Purpose
On a whim a couple of months ago I decided to try to learn German. I've always wanted to be bilingual and German seemed a good language to learn because of its shared origin with English. I started with an app called Duolingo and began working through the lessons. I had made a similar decision about 3 years ago but failed to stick it. The Duolingo app has improved dramatically since then and now 64 days later I'm still at it along with other things such as reading German language books (simple fairy tales for children so far) and watching German television (German dubbed Netflix original programming). The purpose of this blog is to give me some place to practice my writing in German, a place to try to think in German, and a place to figure out some things along the way.
